Recruitment milestone reached!
To a delighted audience of 50 local supporters and members, SaveEnergy announced on Tuesday 21 October that the first stage of growth has been reached, with eleven local people currently training as energy advisors or energy assessors and customers keen to benefit from advice and support. This growth has been funded by the community, who last summer invested £85,000 to provide SaveEnergy with the working capital needed to launch the organisation.
SaveEnergy’s eleven trainees, all new to the green economy, will soon be able to offer advice and energy assessments for local households to meet increasing concern about energy consumption.
On the night six local residents also signed up for SaveEnergy’s Triple A Home Energy Evaluation report.

The event felt like a real celebration and we’re looking forward to finding out about our own home’s energy efficiency when we have the Triple A Survey we booked on the night.
Also at the Community Celebration, local people heard from Tom Griffith from Octopus Energy, one of Europe’s largest investors in renewable energy and the UK’s most awarded energy supplier. Tom shared insights into Tenant Power and Zero Bills, two ground-breaking initiatives that are really tackling rising bills, cold homes and carbon emissions head on!

More and more local residents are keen to find out how to enjoy a warmer home, lower bills and reduce their carbon emissions, and this milestone makes everything possible – SaveEnergy is now established as a successful community business that’s creating jobs, helping residents and reinvesting profits into delivering free, trusted and expert energy advice for some of the more than 4,000 local people living in fuel poverty.
