Free Energy Advice

We offer free practical tips and expert advice to make sure you’re not wasting money, heat or energy so you can enjoy a home that is cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. We can offer specific advice and support around how to treat condensation and mould, advice on how to reduce your bills or switch tariffs, and how to get the best out of your heating and lighting.

Our energy advisors are all qualified to NEA level 3 energy awareness (you can find out more about this qualification here). You might meet us in person at community events; you can receive regular free energy advice by signing up to our free newsletter here; or you can request personalised advice over the phone or during a home visit, if required. Just drop us a line via our contact page.

SaveEnergy Triple A Home Energy Evaluation

Advice, Assessment, Actions

Our Triple A Home Energy Evaluation combines energy advice from qualified experts, a domestic energy assessment and a thermal survey of your home. One of our trusted team will conduct a home visit and then provide you with a comprehensive Triple A Home Energy Evaluation Report and personalised action plan, making it easy for you to prioritise your next steps.

Every Triple A Home Energy Evaluation Report includes:

  • Expert energy advice tailored for your lifestyle and your home
  • Thermal imaging survey of your home inside and out, showing heat loss
  • Domestic Energy Assessment and Energy Performance Certificate (EPC), highlighting areas for improvement
  • Personalised Action Plan to help you enjoy a warmer home, lower bills and reduced carbon emissions

Please note thermal surveys are weather dependent. This will be discussed with you before we visit your property.

The cost for this service depends on the size of your home and your circumstances.

If you are worried about staying warm at home or the rising cost of your energy bills and are on a low income or live in a cold home our SaveEnergy difference means we may be able to signpost you to grants and support, or provide services at low or no cost to you.

Energy Performance Certificates

A Domestic Energy Assessment resulting in an Energy Performance Certificate, or EPC, can help you identify areas for energy improvements in your property. An EPC is the standard energy efficiency assessment method used in the UK and enables the direct comparison of different properties, using a letter scale from A (good) to G (poor), and a number scale from 0 to 100, with 100 being good.

We offer a standalone Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) assessment for renters, homeowners and landlords, so whether you’re considering selling or renting your property, need evidence to quality for government grants or just want to know more about the energy efficiency of your property, our qualified assessors can help.

The cost for this service depends on the size of your home. If appropriate, we will also take time during our visit to discuss any energy efficiency issues or concerns and provide you with free, expert energy advice.

3 bedrooms

Practical Measures

Helping you take action and save energy
We know that when it comes to energy efficiency, recommendations alone don’t make you warmer or keep your home cooler in the summer; it’s practical actions that makes the difference. That’s why we offer a range of options delivered by experienced and trusted local people, tailored to your needs.

Home Energy Advice Plus & Other Practical measures
Once you have your Triple A report, we hope you’ll decide to implement some of the measures recommended. Many of these practical measures, from letter box covers and radiator foils to loft insulation and hot water cylinder jackets, can be undertaken at low cost by our Home Energy Advice Plus service, delivered by a trained member of our team.

Other more significant measures require the services of our experienced partners – specialist firms that share our values and that we recommend to provide measures including cavity wall insulation, external wall insulation and energy efficient carbon-reduction measures such as air source heat pumps and solar panels; and cooling measures such as thermal blinds and louvred shades.

Please note that SaveEnergy never takes commission from our partners or suppliers, ensuring that you can always trust our independent, impartial advice.

We will take time to work with you, prioritise measures and recommend trusted suppliers that can deliver what you need, when you need it. We can take the stress out of home energy improvements.

Loft Clearance
Who doesn’t have a loft or spare room full of boxes and bags? Overcoming the barriers to a warmer home is sometimes as simple as helping people empty the space to be insulated.

If you’re short on time or energy, our local clearance partner will clear your loft, confirm which possessions you want to keep and where possible recycle or re-sell the rest. By arrangement this service may be funded from the sale proceeds.

Feeling more ambitious about improving the energy efficiency of your property?

A retrofit assessment is a ‘whole house’ assessment of every aspect of your property’s fabric, systems and situation. SaveEnergy offers domestic retrofit assessment that can support your journey towards an eco-home.
