Good news for warmer homes!
You’ll probably have seen announcements about the Government’s Warm Homes Plan in national press and online, but what could it mean for you? Alongside grants for lower-income households to transition to cleaner energy with lower bills, the plan also promises government-backed low or zero-interest loans to help all households install green energy solutions including solar, batteries and heat pumps. These loans will be on top of the existing Boiler Upgrade scheme grant, which offers £7,500 to replace a gas boiler with a heat pump.
Details on how to apply for the Warm Homes Plan scheme are yet to be confirmed but with ambitious targets to upgrade 5 million homes by 2030 and £15 billion government funding available, it could be a game changer.

We’re delighted that Triple A Evaluations are already proving useful, wherever our customers are on their decarbonisation journey. Two recent customers provided us with some interesting feedback about their experiences. Malcolm commissioned a Triple A Home Energy Evaluation for his three bedroom property built in 1981.
He told us:
“The report was the end of a journey for me, which started when I had solar panels installed and bought a battery, then had a heat pump installed in 2025. To qualify for the government’s boiler upgrade grant I needed to obtain an Energy Performance Certificate on my property. A survey was completed on my house by an estate agency, giving me a B rating. However, I thought the survey was cursory, with the visit lasting around an hour.
After the heat pump was installed, I became a member of SaveEnergy CBS Ltd and an investor in the Society. Subsequently, SaveEnergy launched its Triple A Energy Evaluation product, which piqued my interest, as to what it could uncover in my property. I was impressed by the thoroughness of the survey, which took two and a half hours, and was carried out by Kit Evans, SaveEnergy’s General Manager. Shortly afterwards, I received the written report, which was very detailed and included images of my property with thermal imaging superimposed, and without. Later in the report was the Domestic Energy Assessment, which produced my Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) with an improved A95 rating. The maximum is a A99 rating.
From the thermal imaging survey came recommendations on how I could improve the energy efficiency of my property, and the likely costs. This included solid floor insulation, solar water heating and a waste-water heat recovery system. There then followed some general energy advice.
One recommendation was putting radiator reflector panels behind the radiators facing external walls, which Kit arranged to be installed. Other suggestions included the replacement of my forty-year-old double glazing. For me, it was a worthwhile investment for a report on my three bedroomed house”.
