Ensuring everyone can enjoy a warmer home, no matter their circumstances.
SaveEnergy is a community benefit society (CBS), this means we’re owned by local people for the benefit of the community.
To help every member of our community to stay warm and well, reduce their energy consumption and contribute to the lowering of carbon emissions, no matter their circumstance or ability to pay.
We provide free energy advice and a range of paid for, low-cost and free services depending on the needs of local people. Our services include home surveys & assessments and retrofit measures to make homes warmer and more energy efficient, reducing carbon emissions and helping people save money on energy bills.
We are determined that everyone can access our services no matter their ability to pay, through the use of innovative financing and support measures. So if your home is cold, your energy bills are too high or you’d like to reduce your carbon footprint but you’re worried about the costs involved, get in touch for a chat.
We know that many local people live in home that are hard to heat.
The combination of cold homes, rising energy prices and low incomes can cause serious health problems, and we are here to help:

Energy grants and support
There are a range of grants and support services for people in fuel poverty, most of which are means tested in some way. Your local council will have a list of grants and support services that you may be eligible for:
Practical solutions
When you need to stop the wind whistling down the chimney or draughts coming through the floorboards but can’t ‘do it yourself’, our local volunteers, many of whom also offer expert energy advice, are on hand with practical experience and appropriate materials to help you free of charge. SaveEnergy Draughtbusters provide draught-excluders, letterbox covers, condensation monitors, radiator reflectors and more for people living in cold or damp homes so that you can enjoy feeling warm and well.
We also offer thermal surveys, some home energy assessments and support from our tradesperson free of charge or at low cost in cases of fuel poverty or specific need and have grant funding available to provide this support.
In some cases we can provide loft insulation free or at low cost, and if you’re worried about all the stuff in your loft we’ve got a solution for that too:
Free loft clearance – for those people on low incomes, struggling to stay warm or living alone we’ve partnered with GoodGym to offer a free loft clearance and sorting service where items you no longer need are recycled or donated to local charities.
