We offer free practical tips and ideas to make sure you’re not wasting money, heat or energy so you can enjoy a warmer home. We can offer specific advice and support around how to treat condensation and mould, advice on how to reduce your bills or switch tariffs, and how to get the best out of your heating and lighting.
Our energy advisors are all qualified to NEA level 3 energy awareness (you can find out more about this qualification here). You might meet us in person at community events; you can access our energy advice online through our free SaveEnergy Fairer Warmth service; and we will also offer personalised advice following a home visit, if required.
This service is free of charge for everyone.
Advice, Assessment, Actions
Our Triple A Home Energy Evaluation combines qualified energy advice, a domestic energy assessment and a thermal survey of your home. One of our trusted team will conduct a home visit and follow up with a full Triple A Report that includes an EPC (energy performance certificate) and an action plan to help you enjoy a warmer home, lower bills and reduce your carbon emissions. The action plan includes simple tips and more extensive measures all of which can help you save energy and money by making your home more energy efficient.
The cost for this service depends on the size of your home and your circumstances.
If you are worried about staying warm at home or the rising cost of your energy bills and are on a low income or live in a cold home our SaveEnergy difference means we may be able to signpost you to grants and support, or provide services at low or no cost to you.
We also offer a standalone Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) assessment for renters, homeowners and landlords, so whether you’re considering selling or renting your property or need evidence to quality for government grants, our qualified assessors can help.

We know that when it comes to energy efficiency, recommendations don’t make you warmer – practical solutions do. That’s why we offer a range of options delivered by experienced and trusted local people, tailored to your needs.
Warm and well
When you need to stop the wind whistling down the chimney or draughts coming through the floorboards but can’t ‘do it yourself’, our local volunteers, many of whom also offer expert energy advice, are on hand with practical experience and appropriate materials to help you free of charge. SaveEnergy Draughtbusters provide draught-excluders, letterbox covers, condensation monitors, radiator reflectors and more for people living in cold or damp homes so that you can enjoy feeling warm and well.
Energy efficiency measures
Once you have your Triple A report, we hope you’ll decide to implement some of the measures recommended. Many of these, such as loft insulation, hot water cylinder jackets and pipe lagging can be undertaken at low cost by our SaveEnergy trusted tradesperson.
Other more significant measures require the services of our experienced partners – specialist firms that we trust and recommend to provide measures including cavity wall insulation, external wall insulation and energy efficient carbon-reduction measures such as air source heat pumps and solar panels.
We will take time to work with you, prioritise measures and recommend trusted suppliers that can deliver what you need, when you need it. We can take the stress out of home energy improvements.
Loft clearance
Who doesn’t have a loft or spare room full of boxes and bags? Overcoming the barriers to a warmer home is sometimes as simple as helping people empty the space to be insulated.
Free loft clearance – for those people on low incomes, struggling to stay warm or living alone we’ve partnered with GoodGym to offer a free loft clearance and sorting service where items you no longer need are recycled or donated to local charities.
Commercial loft clearance – if you’re short on time or energy, our local clearance partner, will clear your loft, confirm which possessions you want to keep and where possible recycle or re-sell the rest. By arrangement this service may be funded from the sale proceeds.
Retrofit assessment and planning
Feeling more ambitious about improving the energy efficiency of your property?
A retrofit assessment is a ‘whole-house’ assessment of every aspect of your property’s fabric, systems and situation that leads to a full remediation plan for your home. SaveEnergy currently offers retrofit assessment and coordination through partners, although in time we will offer this service ourselves. Retrofit work is assured by the PAS2035 framework, which specifies best practice for the energy retrofit of domestic buildings and which delivers conformance certification of your building once works are completed.
If you are interested in whole-house retrofit services please get in touch.
